| Inertia of the Heart |
The old concept of "acedia" describes the vice of inertia, the straying from the focus on God; lack of enthusiasm, restlessness, weariness.
It raises the question, when looked at through secular eyes, if this concept is not somehow still very valid.
Is compulsive activity not on the same level as indolence? Is there some kind of plan of distraction at work? |
